The man was injured in the incident at a residence in Foxdene Drive, Balgaddy, Co Dublin, shortly after 11pm yesterday. 

Shortly after 7.30am, gardaí were alerted to the collision on the junction of Griffeen Avenue, R136 and Balgaddy Road.

Garda Denis Lordan was awarded just over €13,000 against Ronan O’Shaughnessy (above) which Judge Michael Walsh then cut to €8,000 on the basis Lordan had been 40 per cent to blame for the incident
