The 43-year-old man pleaded guilty to anal rape of his wife at their family home in Co Waterford on December 18th, 2024.

Devin O’Donnell (19) was reading from his victim impact statement at the Central Criminal Court sentence hearing of Joseph Campbell (63) of Castle Court, Daingean, Co Offaly.

Gary Coffey (37) formerly of Leinster Road West, Dublin, was found guilty by a jury of one count of anal rape and one count of sexually assaulting the woman at his home

He had pleaded not guilty to a total of six charges - two charges of rape, two charges of oral rape, a charge of anal rape and a charge of sexual assault.
