Gardaí searched a house on the eastern side of Galway City on Thursday, and arrested a man and woman, both in their 20s.

The vehicle used to flee the scene was intercepted by Gardaí a short distance away from the premises and four men in their 20s were arrested

A growhouse containing 260 cannabis plants was discovered, along with dried cannabis herb.

The Data Protection Commission has welcomed the outcome of prosecution proceedings that were taken in Galway District Court this week.
