An Coimisiún Pleanála, formerly An Bord Pleanála, confirmed on Monday that the appeals have been lodged by the Moycarkey Community Association and Thomas Dwyer and Others.

The company is seeking planning permission for a 10-year period.

The plan is facing local opposition and now Kildare Co Council has placed the scheme on hold seeking further information under a number of headings.

This follows the appeals board upholding a decision by Kildare Co Council to grant a 10 year planning permission to Delamain Solar Farm Ltd across 12 town lands and six parcels of land on sites 3.5km east of Kilcullen.
