The two men had been in the midst of a crime spree, robbing cars with a view to selling them on, when they stole the vehicle Ian McDonnell had brought to work on January 23rd, 2022.

Gardaí were alerted by PSNI to a car, subject to an unauthorised taking in Belfast, which had entered the jurisdiction on the N1 Southbound.

The thefts took place last Saturday morning at various locations across the city.

The court heard the boy was 15 when he stole a Volkswagen Golf in Cabra and led Gardaí on a high-speed chase
