The average temperature in August was 16.83 degrees, with rainfall below average in most locations. It was the warmest month so far in 2025.

The highest temperature recorded was 29.6C in Mount Dillon, Co Roscommon on June 20th, which is also the warmest temperature this year.

Met Éireann said high pressure will continue to bring settled conditions and plenty of sunshine.

Highest temperatures on Friday will range from six to nine degrees with moderate northeast winds easing later. It will be cold tonight with clear spells.
