Lauren Metcalfe, 17, and her younger sister Ellamay, eight, are in the process of appealing for Easter eggs or donations for them.

Fertility preservation is the cryopreservation, or freezing, of eggs, sperm, embryos or reproductive tissue, so that a person can use them to have biological children in the future.

The family are to distribute roughly 820 Easter eggs to the charity Children’s Health Foundation at Temple Street, Dublin this year.
