Antonio Mureddu pleaded guilty at Ennis Circuit Court to assaulting a garda and dangerous driving

Judge Gabbett said that this is the first time that Mr Mureddu has introduced the transgender issue.

In court, Mr Mureddu - flanked by a prison officer on either side - told Judge Gabbett that he was in court under duress after being kidnapped.
