The Garda Commissioner has pledged to crack down on the number of drivers who speed.

Mayo is among the locations for nine new speed cameras across the country. The €2. 5m static speed cameras will be put in place in Mayo, Galway, Waterford, Wicklow, Donegal, Carlow, Cork and Limerick.

Thirty-three vehicles have been detected speeding so far on National Slow Down Day
