There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night, July 20, held in The Thatch Bar, when the numbers drawn were 15, 27, 32 and 34. No punter matched three numbers and three tickets were drawn; David McNamara, Castlehill, Ballina; Martin and Olive Cosgrove, Lahardane; and Teresa McGovern, Hollymount, each win €50. This jackpot in the latest draw which was held on Saturday, July 27, was €4,500.
Crossmolina got back to winning ways in the County Minor Championship with a late goal from Dylan Flynn after Balla’s Luke Flatley scored a goal from the penalty in the 25th minute to take the lead for the first time in the game. Crossmolina got off to a great start with a brace of points from Kobe McDonald and a goal from Adam Mills. Balla’s Patrick McHale, T J McNicholas and Luke Flaherty pointed and in between Oisin Deane and Adam Mills tacked on points to leave the half time score 1-8 to 0- 5.
Liam Mahoney grabbed a goal and Conor Nolan added two points while Kobe McDonald, Oisin Deane and Nathan Lynch raised white flags. The West Mayo side fought back with further points from Darragh Lyons and Conor Nolan and Kobe McDonald cancelled those with like scores before the late drama, with the hosts deserving winners after missing a number of goal chances over the course of the hour. The final score was Crossmolina 2-13, Balla 2-10.
Crossmolina completed their Division 2B campaign with a comfortable win over Ardagh on Saturday week dropping just one point in their draw with Swinford. Crossmolina lead at the break 0-13 to 0-5 with a string of points from the Coggins brothers Diarmuid and Niall, Conor Loftus, James Maheady, Paddy Leddy, Fionan Duffy, Diarmaid Walsh. Ardagh point scorers were Stephen Rochford, Lee Traynor and Brendan Carr. The Deel-Siders continued to hold the upper hand and Jordan Flynn scored the only goal just before the final whistle. Rochford, Traynor and Carr kept the Ardagh score board ticking over with points. The final score was Crossmolina 1-20, Ardagh 0-9.

The numbers drawn in the Killala Community Centre lotto which was held on July 17 last were, 4, 5, 8, 30. Consolation prizes went to Maria Munnelly, Holly Tempany and Brid Jordan. The jackpot for July 24 was €7,200 and the numbers drawn were 3, 5, 22 and 26. Consolation prizes went Grace Ruddy, Michael Ryan and Samantha Kormer.

Best of luck to Michael McHale, Carravaneen/Carragorru, Knockmore, who has qualified for this year's Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann taking place in Wexford this week. In the Connacht Fleadh Cheoil qualifier Michael won medals in three individual competitions, 1st place in the U12 tin whistle slow airs, and 2nd in both flute competitions. Well done Michael.
