A hundred and seven vintage tractors, vehicles etc participated in the Backs Parish Run which was held on Sunday last as part of a fundraiser for church funds. The run commenced at Knockmore GAA Club and made its way through Currabaggan, Corroy, Cloghans, Carravaneen, Brackwansha and Runagry.
Well done to all who participated, prepared and polished their motors and presented them so well on the day. Well done also to the children who brought their pedal tractors, go-cars and machines and participated in their own run held earlier. Special thanks to the members of the Parish Council who organised the fundraiser, to the ladies who provided the lovely eats and refreshments afterwards, to those who helped out with the auction and to all who contributed goods for same. It was a lovely family day for all.
Flourish are delighted to share that we are holding a free crafting course in Knockmore Rathduff Recreation and Resource Centre. The course begins tomorrow Wednesday, September 23, and continues on September 30 and October 7. Each class is for two hours in duration beginning at 11am and finishing at 1pm. Throughout the course you will be immersed in creating seasonal pieces for your home and learning the beautiful crafts of decoupage and picture transfer and so much more. Pupils, teachers and staff were overjoyed to welcome the Sam Maguire cup and members of the Mayo team to their school last week. It was a special occasion for the children and supporters.

Knockmore GAA Club will welcome the Sam Maguire on Saturday next, September 26, at 1.30pm. This will an opportunity for club members, teams and the wider Knockmore community and parishioners to see the Sam Maguire and have a photo opportunity.
The numbers drawn in the Currabaggan NS online lotto last week were; 1,8, 10, and 15. There was no jackpot winner and the €25 weekly winner was Eoin McLoughlin.

There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night, September 12, in Hiney’s Bar, when the numbers drawn were 1, 8, 11 and 14. Sandra Granaghan, Lahardane matched three numbers and she won €150. The jackpot in the latest draw which was held on Saturday night, September 19, was €8,400. Many thanks for your continued support.
The Connacht PTAA mini vigil will take place in the Parish Church, Knock on this coming Friday night September 25, from 8. 30pm to 12 midnight. The programme is as follows: Introductory talk by Canon Joseph Delaney, Spiritual Director of Connacht PTAA; Stations of the Cross at 8. 45 with Deacon William Gaucquin; 9.15pm Rosary with Martina Gardiner; 9.30pm Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament talk, prayer and reflection with Fr Tom Lavin; Mass at 10. 45pm with music by Lourdes Choir led by Mary O’Brien Healy. All pioneer centers are asked to be represented.
