Many congratulations to the boys of Lisaniska National School who are pictured with the North Mayo area trophy. They beat an unlucky Ballycastle team for the second year running to retain the cup in an entertaining final played in Ardnaree recently.

Congratulations to the children from Currabaggan NS who received their First Holy Communion on Saturday last, May 18, in a beautiful ceremony in Christ the King Church, Knockmore. The boys were; Shay Canavan, Kian Connor and Kian Cawley. The girls included; Natalie Bourke, Hollie Lally, Lauren McHale, Aoibhe Goggins, Caithlyn Bourke, Riona Walsh, Sophie Fox, Ella O’Hora, Ciara Hughes, Jasmine Reilly and Aimee Kneafsey.

There was no outright winner of Ardagh GAA Club's monthly lotto draw held last week. The numbers drawn were 26, 10, 5 and 11. Lucky €50 winners were Ronan Buckley and Damien Flynn (online winner). Congratulations to both winners. The lotto is a vital means of raising necessary finance for the club and officials express their sincere gratitude to everyone who continues to support the fundraiser GAA.
Congratulations to Ardmoy U14 squad and management who had a two points victory over Naomh Padraig last week to qualify for the county U14 final. Meanwhile, Ardagh senior footballers pulled off a creditable 1-4 to 0-7 draw away to Swinford in the county senior league last Sunday week.

The group thank Catherine Jennings for sharing with them all about her travelling over the years from United Arab Emirates to Egypt, Vietnam, Ecuador, France, Quito and many more. She spoke about the challenges with languages such as Arabic, Mandarin and French, and finding school placements and settling small children into new cultures. Catherine shared mementos of those special times such as fresh water pearls, art and crafts, and photographs of interesting events.

The Killala Coast Guard Unit will be taking part in a joint exercise with the Coast Guard Helicopter (R118) at the Moygownagh GAA Pitch tomorrow Wednesday, May 29 at approx.. 6.30pm. Spectators are welcome and you may get an opportunity to meet the crew and view the helicopter and other Coast Guard assets. Please note that due to search and rescue obligations, this exercise may be cancelled at short notice.
