The late Margaret Ruane whose death took place last week was fondly remembered at her Requiem Mass which was celebrated in St Muredach’s Cathedral, Ballina, on Monday, June 17. Family, friends and neighbours gathered to pay their final respects to a much loved wife mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Margaret was born in Fethard, Co Tipperary, to parents Michael and Mary O'Connor and was a member of a family of eight. She married her beloved husband James Ruane and set up home in Carrentrilla where they reared a family of two, Declan and David.
Margaret’s kind and friendly manner endeared her to many and her presence in their lives, her home and community will be sadly missed. Pre-deceased by her parents, and sister Josephine, she is survived by her beloved husband James, sons Declan and David, her much loved grandchildren, brothers and sisters, in-laws and many friends to whom we extend our deepest sympathy. May she now rest in peace.
