Local Notes: Knockmore Foxford Boxing Club look forward to weekend of boxing on St Patrick's weekend

Two events will be staged over the St Patrick's weekend in Knockmore by the Knockmore/Foxford Boxing Club (KFC). On Saturday evening, March 16, the Annual Vincie James Tournament will be staged in the community hall, commencing at 8am. All experienced KFC boxers and a couple of underage boxers will fill the program versus clubs from throughout Mayo. On Monday morning at noon an underage only event will be held in the same venue and the local club will have at least 10 boxers involved.
Knockmore/Rathduff ladies group have been invited by Minister Dara Calleary to visit the Dail on Wednesday, April 24.(please note change of date). This invitation is open to past and present members. The numbers drawn on Saturday, February 17, were 2, 15, 26 and 32. There was no jackpot winner. Weekly winners were Kim Stadler and Ken Tigue. Season ticket winners were Mary Flynn and Hughie Langan. The 2024 Mayo Stages Rally will take place on Sunday, March 3, in the Knockmore and Ardagh areas. This will involve a number of road closures as listed in the Public Notices Section of the Western People. Ardagh GAA Club officials thank Mary Teresa Moran who has kindly taken up the role of PRO for all club underage activities. Items pertaining to club/schools, photographs, etc., can be sent to Mary Teresa. In addition the club seeks assistance with the promotion of its monthly online lotto draw and any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. Club PRO Grainne Gough, who continues to do sterling work with promotional activities of the club, has also thanked Sean O'Hora and Brendan Murphy for their continued support in promoting junior team projects and events.
By all accounts Ardagh GAA Club's annual fundraising race night held in Bar Square, Ballina, last Friday evening proved an outstanding success. The club thank the management and staff of Bar Square, sponsors, organising committee and their many supporters who turned out in huge numbers to help make it a hugely enjoyable event.
2024 annual membership for Ardagh GAA is now open to all club followers. Supporters can now purchase their membership online at www.foireann.ie.
Club officials urge supporters to subscribe if at all possible as it is a continuous financial streamline in assisting with costs incurred in running the club and its many underage and senior teams.

There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night February 17, in Cooney’s Bar, and the numbers drawn were 3, 23, 28 and33.
