Kiltimagh shocked at fatal accident

The death took place on January 16 following a road traffic accident between Ballindine and Millltown, involving a van and two cars, of Teresa Sweeney nee Hegarty, Treenagleragh, Kiltimagh. Teresa was a well known and much respected member of the local community and her death was greeted with shock and sadness when the very sad news came through of the terrible accident that claimed her life and injured her only daughter who is recovering at Galway University Hospital.

Teresa was a kind and compassionate lady who was always ready to help out when help was needed. She was highly thought of by her neighbours and friends for her warm smile and good nature. She will be sorely missed by her daughter and all her family members and also by the many people who had the pleasure of knowing her over the decades.

Predeceased by her husband Paddy, sister Mary, brothers Mick and John she is deeply regretted by her loving daughter Margaret, son-in-law Jerome, her sisters Peg Loftus (Sligo), Anne Caestecker (USA), her brothers Andy (Ballymote), Jimmy (Aclare), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Teresa reposed in O'Hora's Funeral Home on Friday evening, January 19, after which removal took place to the Church of the Holy Family. Funeral Mass was on Saturday followed by cremation in Shannon Crematorium. May Teresa rest in peace.

On the field, KK are looking for coaches across all underage levels, boys and girls, to help with teams. Garda vetting and safeguarding is compulsory.

Do you have time to give? Be it a little or a lot, they'd love you to talk to them and get involved at some level. If you can help out, contact Martin at 086 3723366 or Mary at 087 2124130, or talk to one of the other committee members or coaches. Alternatively send a PM to the club's Facebook page.
