The Kilglass Enniscrone FC U12 girls hosted Strand Celtic on a windy Saturday morning at Enniscrone. Spectators were treated to a great game of football with both sides giving their all.
KEUFC went 1 up after two minutes with a Beckham-like lobshot from Mia Curran, and great defending meant they held that lead until half time. With a big panel of players, they rotated the team throughout. Strand upped the ante in the 2nd half and the girls were unlucky to concede goals just after the restart but Anna Creighton managed to grab a second goal for KEUFC, before Strand finished on top.
Well done to Eabha Boland who did great, to all the panel of girls and to Strand who contributed to a great game.

Jesus and Mary Secondary School proudly celebrated the achievements of their adult learns at the QQ1 graduation ceremony last week. It was a wonderful occasion recognising the hard work, commitment and determination of the graduating students as they were presented with their awards by PLC Coordinator Ms Walsh and principal Ms Hamilton.

Enniscrone Tidy Towns and Clean Coasts held a big beach clean on Sunday morning last, September 20, as part of the national Clean Coasts campaign. They thank all the local groups and clubs who participated in their Sunday morning beach cleans during the summer and helped to keep the beach litter free.
Kilglass Enniscrone Utd FC are looking for volunteers to help out in the club shop during a match, where you can cheer on the kids, have a chat, and stay warm and dry, while you serve hot drinks, welcome families, sell snacks and treats and bring match day smiles. There is no experience needed and full support will be provided.

A special Mass marking the 85th year of Jesus and Mary Secondary School, Enniscrone, will be celebrated on Friday, September 25 at 11am in the Church of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven, Enniscrone. All are warmly welcome to join the staff and students of the school, together with former staff members, past pupils and friends of the school, as they celebrate this significant milestone in the history and story of Jesus and Mary Secondary School.
It will be an opportunity to give thanks for the many generations of students, teachers, religious and lay staff who have contributed to the life of the school over the past 85 years, and to remember with gratitude all who have been part of this journey. All are very welcome to join them for this special celebration.
The senior boy gaelic team from Jesus and Mary Secondary School played their first home game of the year in a hard-fought contest against Drumshambo. There was little between the sides throughout, with Drumshambo just edging past them in the closing stages.
It was a great effort from all the lads and there was plenty of positives to take into their next game.
Enniscrone Kilglass GAA U7 kids had their final training session of the season in Quigabar. They have all make great progress on their skills but also had some fun along the way. The club extend thanks to their coaches Mark, Brandon and Alan, as well as to Shane and Brian for all their efforts throughout the season.

The Enniscrone Indoor Market is a perfect place to visit on Saturdays located at F26 EW67 Main Street, next door to Checkout shop. The market is open from 11am to 3pm. Easkey Scarecrow Festival
It’s that time of year again, with the much loved Easkey Scarecrow Festival back from October 18 to 30, bringing colour, creativity, and plenty of fun to the beautiful coastal village.
Once again, Easkey’s streets, gardens, and public spaces will be transformed by an imaginative collection of scarecrows created by people of all ages. Whether you are a seasoned scarecrow maker or taking part for the very first time, the committee would love to see what you can create.
This year there are four competition categories; individual, family, community group and school. With cash prizes on offer, everyone is encouraged to get involved and help make this year’s festival bigger and better than ever.
The festival is a wonderful celebration of local talent, community spirit, and a little bit of countryside magic. So gather your friends, family, classmates, or neighbours and start planning your scarecrow masterpiece.
All entries must be completed and in place by Tuesday, October 14; winners will be announced on Friday, October 24 and the festival trail is open from October 18 to 30.

The mixed gender walking football has been postponed and will commence on Friday, October 2, from 7-8pm in Dromore West Community Centre. This is a fun, low-intensity way to exercise, have a bit of fun and meet new people. There is no need to be a football expert – just come along and enjoy yourself. Everyone is welcome.
The 2nd annual Brendan McGrath Memorial Blitz takes place on Saturday, September 26, at Easkey GAA Grounds. The U13 teams will battle it out for cup, shield and plate. Married v Singles adult game will take place afterwards. Donations on the day will go towards The Dillon Quirke.

Saturday night, September 12, marked the final draw of the Castleconnor GAA 2025/2026 annual lotto for ticket holders and the club extend thanks to all who supported the lotto and the club throughout the year. The numbers drawn were 15, 19 and 38. There was no jackpot winner and no match 3 winner. The lucky dip winner was Anthony Kilcullen. The first draw of the 2026/2027 season took place on Saturday night last, November 19, and the jackpot was €11,400.
