Treasured memories and history was made on Saturday, September 6 last as the Eoghan Rua girls brought home the U14A cup for the very first time. Eoghan Rua has never won this prestigious title before. The last time it came West was in 1999 and 2000 when the Castleconnor girls team won it. Captain Ellen Kelly was presented with the cup.
The club thank all who made this possible, particularly the girls who have put in a huge effort as well as their parents travelling the county all year, and a special mention to the female powered management squad – Joanne McDonnell, Orna O’Dowd, Noreen Rolston and Clara Battle. The girls were delighted with all who came out to support them and welcome them home on Saturday evening and it was great to see a large crowd on John’s home ground cheering the girls on which made a difference in the end. Last but not least, the club thank Lauren Fitzgerald Photography for capturing memories which will last a lifetime and a game that will be talked about forever.
