St Brendan’s College

As a school, St Brendan’s is experiencing a significant increase in students presenting with anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, sensory overload, behavioural challenges, and additional educational needs, including ASD and non-verbal communication needs. While the staff provides extensive support, the school does not receive capital funding for specialised wellbeing or therapeutic spaces.

The Nurture Room will provide a calm, structured and supportive environment where students can regulate emotions, receive early intervention, and develop social and coping skills before re-engaging with classroom learning. This facility is not a luxury, is a necessary early-intervention support that will have a direct and lasting impact on student wellbeing, attendance, engagement, and inclusion.

The Nurture Room will include a safe and inclusive environment for young people and community members requiring additional emotional or sensory support, fostering greater inclusion across sport, youth engagement, and community participation in the Erris area.
