Cooneal Community Group who were in Clane, Co Kildare recently for their annual trip.
There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night, July 6, which was held in Maughan’s, and the numbers drawn were 2, 4, 23 and 35. One ticket matched three numbers; Andy and Annette Gray, Crossmolina, and they won €150. The jackpot for the latest draw which was held on Saturday, July 13, was €4,200. Crossmolina captured the North Mayo Minor A title after a hard fought contest against Knockmore in St Joseph’s Park. Crossmolina played with the assistance of a slight breeze but it was the hosts who played the better football in the opening half with two goals from Barry Walsh and Oisin Cosgrove and three points from James Brogan. Crossmolina kept their composer with points from Adam Mills, Kobe McDonald and a goal and a point from Oisin Deane. This saw the Deel-Siders trail at the break by 2 -6 to 1 – 4. Kobe McDonald and Peter Kelly exchanged points in the opening minutes of the new half. Crossmolina went on a scoring spree with three points from Kobe McDonald and one each from Liam Clancy, Aaron Coggins in between Daniel Breslin pointing for the hosts. Kobe McDonald scored a stunning goal in the 16th minute and pointed a 45 and James O’Boyle and Oisin Deane tacked on points with James Brogan pointing for the hosts. On the second half display Crossmolina were deserving winners after a well contested game of open football. The final score was Crossmolina 2-13, Knockmore 2-9.

From the weekend of July 13, up to and including the weekend of July 28, there will be no Saturday evening Mass. The Sunday morning Mass time is 10am. From the weekend of August 10, up to and including August 31, there will be no Sunday morning Mass. All Mass bookings for those Sunday morning Masses will be transferred to the Saturday evening Mass of that same weekend. The Saturday evening Mass time is 8pm. There will not be a weekday morning Mass from August 6, to the end of August. Please consult the church bulletin for Mass times.
Attymass Parish Cemetery Masses are as follows; Bonnifinglas Cemetery on Tuesday, August 6, at 7.30pm; New Killeen Cemetery on Friday, August 9, at 7.30pm; Old Killeen Cemetery on Tuesday, August 13, at 7.30pm. A sincere thank you to all for the care which is shown to the cemeteries and also to the Cemetery Care Committee of each cemetery whose work is very much appreciated. A collection for the upkeep of the cemeteries will take place at each Mass.

The annual trip to Knock Shrine for Killala , Lacken and Cooneal Parishes will take place on August 7, with lunch at the Knock House Hotel, some free time and Mass at 4pm in the Apparition Chapel. The cost is €25 which includes bus, lunch and refreshments on return home. Leave your name and money into your local Church or Killala Post Office.
