There was no winner of Crossmolina Deel-Rovers GAA Club lotto jackpot on Saturday night, September 14, when the numbers drawn were 6, 22, 32 and 35. Two punter’s matched three numbers Johnny and Claire Loftus, Creev, Castlehill; Ian Kelly, Freehen, Crossmolina, and they won €75 each. The draw took place in Cooney’s. The latest jackpot was €5,700.

Nephin Valley Dads and Lad’s is an enjoyable social football outside the traditional competitive structures of the GAA. Templemary NS Killala are having their annual clothes collection. It will run until Friday, September 27. The collection drop-off point is Killala Post Office between the hours of 9am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday only. Please use the double doors beside the post office front door. Mens, ladies and childrens clothes are all welcome as are paired shoes (tied together), handbags, hats, scarves, belts and soft toys. All donations are all greatly appreciated.

The death took place during the week of Marie Regan, Ennaghbeg, Killala. Her funeral was from Lynns Funeral Home on Tuesday evening to Killala Parish church and buried in Killala cemetery after 12noon Mass on Wednesday. May she rest in peace.

Killala Community Text Alert Scheme is up and running. The procedure is if you notice any suspicious activity you ring the Gardai on 096 20550 and they will decide if it warrants a text being sent to the scheme. If you are not already signed up it is not too late, call to the community centre and fill up a form.
Killala Community Council (Newstart) Ltd are running a Meals on Wheels service for Killala and surrounding areas. They aim to provide nourishing quality meals at an affordable price to any senior citizen who signs up. The meals will have two courses and can be collected or delivered. Orders can be taken up to 11.30 am each day. This service is available to anyone over 60 years or recovering from illness. If interested contact 096 32992/32484.

Due to popular demand the Activator Poles Exercise Programme has returned to Moygownagh Community Centre for 10 weeks and it commences today, Tuesday, September 24, at 1pm. This is a fun, sociable activity suitable for adults who are looking to improve their fitness and health in a social and supportive environment. The aim of the programme is to increase opportunities for adults to be more physically active, to participate in strength and aerobic based exercise. This programme is run by the Mayo Sports Partnership.
Poles have been developed by Canadian Therapists to promote balance and improve mobility. If people are interested in taking part in this programme and haven’t already done so, give your name to Stephanie at 087 6154318. There are 18 places available in total.

The Relics of St Bernadette will be visiting the diocese on Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6, in the Cathedral of the Annunciation and St Nathy as part of the pilgrimage of Ireland which continues until November 5.
