Thirty two players stepped up to compete for the inaugural Mattie McHale youths title including several county youth players. A brilliant competition played out showcasing some young talents incoming in Erris and the wider Mayo area but it was local man Mikey Monaghan who narrowly defeated Jack Duffy in a very close final. Pat Sweeny Jnr and John James Conway were the defeated semi finalists and Jack Duffy with 103 took home the highest checkout. Mikey in his winning speech paid special thanks to Jack for a brilliant final. Well done to all the youth players.

The main event began at 4.30pm with 89 players participating. The final was dominated by Ultan McDyers heavy scoring in the early stages with him racing into an early lead before Micheal Connelly found form and mounted a comeback. Ultan went to the well one last time and produced that extra level when it was needed to see him over the line.
