The Ballinrobe response was instantaneous and a well-placed finish from Hannah McKenzie restored parity, and the sides were level at 1-1 during the half-time musings.

The red and white began the second half in a whirlwind fashion and a brace of goals from the influential Laoise Heneghan delighted the away bench.

Ballinrobe substitute Anabel Weber played a key role in the tie and she netted a fourth goal for her team-mates which left the hosts with a mountain to climb. As the game petered out, Caitlin Cummins put the icing on the cake for the visitors by adding a fifth goal, much to the delight of her team-mates. It was an excellent team display by the red and white, with Ballinrobe’s substitutes playing a vital role in the victory.
