International boxing returns to Geesala
Geesala Boxing Club is appealing for all boxing fans to come out and support their boxers and give a warm Geesala welcome to their Italian guests, not to mention enjoy a great afternoon of boxing.
Boxing: International boxing returns to Geesala next weekend, as Geesala Boxing Club in association with the Mayo Boxing Board hosts an Ireland (Mayo selection) v Italian (Bergamo Selection).
The event is going ahead on Sunday, June 14 at the Erris Coast Hotel with boxing scheduled to commence at 3pm.
“It’s a going to be a great opportunity to showcase some of our up and coming young boxers and of course our two newly crowned Irish champions,” said Geesala head coach Pat McDonagh.
It’s been a very exciting year for Geesala, with club president Gerry Coyle describing it as “the year of the Frankies”, with Frankie Brogan being crowned champion earlier in the season and more recently Frank Kirwan winning the super heavyweight title in a very exciting contest in the National Stadium.
