Gardaí are investigating a gun attack at a house located on the south side of Limerick city.
Shots were fired at a residential property after 5am on Wednesday morning.
No one was injured in the gun attack, which is the latest in a string of shootings in the area over the past year.
A Garda spokeswoman said: “Gardaí attended the scene following report of an incident involving the discharge of a firearm, at a residential location in the Ballinacurra area, Limerick city, this morning, Wednesday 29th April 2026 at approximately 5:30am.”
“No injuries have been reported at this time. Investigations are ongoing,” they added.
The gun attack is one of a string of violent attacks in the same community in recent weeks and months.
Several farda investigations are continuing into drive-by shootings, and pipebomb attacks in the area.
Last Sunday afternoon, a male was injured and treated in hospital following a hatchet/slash hook attack at Hyde Road.
It is unclear at this stage if Wednesday morning’s shooting is linked to the other recent violence in the area.
Gardaí are investigating if this shooting is linked to ongoing feuding between rival families and organised crime groups based on the southside of the city.
