Foxford candlelight concert returns for third year
The concert takes place at St Michael's Church in Foxford.
It has been announced that this year's Remembrance by Candlelight concert in St Michael’s Church, Foxford will be in aid of Hugh’s House in Dublin, in memory of baby Cian McHale, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at the end of May, just two months short of his third birthday. The event will also support the Foxford Enhancement Group, Foxford Christmas Lights and St Michael’s Church.
Taking place on Friday, November 20 at 7pm, it’s the third consecutive year that the concert is to take place.
The evening promises to be a truly special one, with the talented opera singer Sean Ruane performing alongside the Cill Aodáin Choral society. There will also be a wonderful selection of traditional music and performances from Maria Lynn, John McHugh, Stephen, Tom and Kevin Doherty, and David and Patrick Doocey, who will all ensure to make it a memorable evening of music, remembrance and community spirit.
Tickets are €20 each and selling extremely well. As the concert has sold out the last two years before the concert night, the advice to anyone wishing to attend is to book your tickets in advance, as there is no guarantee that tickets will be available on the night. Tickets can be arranged by contacting Sarah at 087-7965520 and Irene at 087-2795242.
The generosity and support shown by the local community over the past two years has been exceptional and has helped raised much-needed funds for some very worthwhile causes. This year it’s hoped will be no different. For anyone who is unable to attend but would still like to support this year's fundraiser, donations can be made at www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/sarahruane4.
