An emergency response had to be stood down after a hoax call at the Old Head of Kinsale in Cork over the weekend.
A caller to the fire service in Kinsale on Sunday claimed a car had gone off a cliff in the area.
Fire units were scrambled along with the coastguard, the RNLI, gardaí, the national ambulance service, and local boats in the area.
Following a search, it was determined there was no vehicle or person in the water and the response was stood down.
