Castlebar honour their best of the season
Incoming president Mairéad Bradley and outgoing president Kevin McGing with Emma Fahey, Castlebar RFC's Most Improved U18 girls player.
The annual awards of Castlebar Rugby Club were held in the clubhouse in Cloondeash across two days earlier this month, the seniors gathering on Friday, June 5 and the youths the following day, Saturday, June 6.

The award winners were as follows: U13 Boys Player of the Year, Sean McHale; U13 Boys Most Improved, Ryan Walsh; U14 Boys Player of the Year, Dylan Broderick; U14 Boys Most Improved, James McConway; U15 Boys Player of the Year, Tiernan Smith; U15 Boys Most Improved, Liam O’Brien; U16 Boys Player of the Year, Ross Malone; U16 Boys Most Improved, Conor Ludden; U17 Boys Player of the Year, Luke McDonald; U17 Boys Most Improved, Dannan Mekitarian; U18.5 Boys Player of the Year, Matthew Flannelly; U18.5 Boys Most Improved, Alex Dunlop; U16 Girls Player of the Year, Grace Needham; U16 Girls Most Improved, Michaela Kilcoyne; U18 Girls Player of the Year, Roisín Daly; U18 Girls Most Improved, Emma Fahey; 2nd XV Player of the Year, Oran Cresham; 1st XV Player of the Year, Carl Jackson; 1st XV Most Improved Conor McInerney; 1st XV Players’ Player of the Year, Sean Tonra; Club Person of the Year, Paddy Flannelly; Hall of Fame award, Joe Rawson.

Club president for the 2025/26 season was Kevin McGing and in an historic first, Mairéad Bradley is to succeed Kevin in that post for the 2026/27 season and become Castlebar RFC’s first female president.
Club Person of the Year recipient Paddy Flannelly was the first team’s head coach last season while Players’ Player of the Year Sean Tonra was also first team captain.
