Ballina singer releases a poignant anthem dedicated to people of Gaza

Cathal Connolly has released his debut single 'WUGO'

Rising pop-folk artist Cathal Connolly has released his latest single Rise Up, a poignant anthem dedicated to the resilient people of Gaza and others facing oppression from those dropping bombs.

The track, released as his third single, marks a significant milestone in Connolly's burgeoning career, following a triumphant headline performance at Ballina Arts Centre to a hometown crowd.

Hailing from Knockmore, Cathal’s heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring melodies deliver a powerful message of unity and resilience.

Rise Up not only showcases Connolly's musical prowess but also serves as a rallying cry for those enduring the harsh realities of conflict.

Rise Up is the first of six planned releases for 2024, promising a year of continuous musical exploration and expression from Cathal.

“There are several top-class musicians featured on the track. David Doocey played the violin lines and Caoi De Barra from Wyvern Lingo played the drums. I was honoured when they agreed to play,” explained the Knockmore man.

Cathal is currently preparing to support ‘No Crows’ in Ballina Arts Centre on February 24th, before his second headline show in Ballina Arts Centre on the May 31. Rise Up is the third song from his album, which will be fully released in early July.
