Ballina Arts Centre launches 'The Bridge'

Ballina Arts Centre has launched ‘The Bridge,’ a new arts education programme which offers local people a chance to develop their creativity by providing access to quality arts education courses, delivered by respected and experienced facilitators.

Courses for adults, young adults, and children will be offered each spring and autumn. This term’s programme includes courses in acting for adults, printmaking, photography, scriptwriting, drawing for young adults, crafts for children, and children’s and family art.

Audrey Robinson, assistant manager at the centre, said: "This programme has been created to respond to the creative interests and ambitions of the local community. We wanted to offer courses for people who are just starting out on their creative journey, as well as those developing professionally, or honing exiting creative skills. The Bridge is designed to provide courses which will help people, at all levels, take the next step in their creative journey." 

The centre also wants the local community to be actively involved in the development of the programme, as Audrey explained: "We are starting with a selection of courses that we know people want right now, and hope to expand the offering as we build the programme. If there are specific courses that local people would like to see included, they can let us know on our website, and we will use the level of interest shown to help us decide which courses to include in the future.".
