Ballagh' ladies are right on Point

The Ballaghaderreen quartet who enjoyed home advantage for their clash with Rosses Point in the Minor Foursomes. The team consisted of Patricia Reid, Ogie Moran, Breege Flanagan and Pauline Gibbons.

Golf: Ballaghaderreen Ladies had a very busy and exciting weekend when the second round of the Minor Foursomes took place at their home club and at Rosses Point GC in Co Sligo. The home team consisted of Patricia Reid, Ogie Moran, Breege Flanagan and Pauline Gibbons and they had a very comfortable win over their Co Sligo opponents. Ballaghaderreen’s ‘away’ team consisted of Eithne McGarry, Mary Cunniffe, Marie Cassidy and Teresa Bruen and they were narrowly defeated in a sudden death sixth playoff hole by their Rosses Point hosts. Both Ballagh’ teams gave valiant efforts and displayed wonderful team play from start to finish.

Meanwhile, 18 ladies travelled to Castlerea Golf Club to take part in the HiLo competition. The HiLo is a foursome match played by players of both High and Low handicaps. Sincere thanks to Castlerea for their hospitality and prizes awarded on the day.

Also, well done to Maura Madden who was the winner of the 18-hole ladies stableford competition in Ballaghaderreen. The weekly scramble takes place every Tuesday evening at 6.30pm.
