All-Mayo clash in Connacht Rugby Junior Cup next weekend

Either Castlebar or Ballinrobe will be in the Connacht Junior Cup semi-final after both sides got through their respective opening rounds at the weekend.

Castlebar pulled off a brilliant comeback win against Tuam in Garraun Park. Trailing 11-0 at half-time, second half tries from Eoghan Hughes, Barry Walsh and Michael Brink secured a 19-14 win.

Matters for Ballinrobe were much more straightforward as they recorded a 52-3 victory over Ballina's second string, with the Robesiders now travelling to Cloondeash to take on Castlebar this Sunday at 2pm.

Reigning champions Westport fell at the first hurdle after a 33-18 defeat away to Dunmore.
