The 2003 Irish Dairy Board / Macra na Feirme National Dairy stockjudging competition final is taking place on Wednesday July 16th on Richard Whelan's Farm in Clonard, Co Meath. This year's final is being run in conjunction with the Irish Holstein Friesian Association (IHFA) open day. Mr Michael Cronin, Irish Diary Board Chairman said "Irish Dairy Board are delighted to continue their long standing support for the Macra na Feirme Dairy stockjudging competition."
Macra na Feirme National President Thomas Honner said that "Macra na Feirme are proud that the Irish Dairy Board sponsor the dairy stockjudging competition. The dairy stockjudging competition offers young farmers a great opportunity to learn about both stockjudging techniques and the role of decision making."
Over 40 competitors from Macra clubs across the country will participate in this year's competition, which is divided into two categories National Senior Dairy and Under-23 Dairy. The competition will start at 2.00pm.
