Council chaos as Durcan cries corruption … again

THE monthly meeting of Mayo County Council was indefinitely adjourned amid chaotic scenes after Cllr Frank Durcan accused the council of corruption.
The Independent councillor refused to withdraw his allegation saying the local authority administration would remain corrupt into the future if an investigation were not carried out.
“Stuff that came out this week has astounded me. The vast majority of staff I have no problem with but there are those that have to be brought to justice and with the help of God they will be. If I get my day in court I will divulge all the documentary evidence I have after carrying out a forensic examination of various files in this council over the past 20 years," said Cllr Durcan.
