Worried about where to park for the big game on Sunday? Here’s an idea that will make life easier for everyone. Galway GAA, the management committee at Galway Airport, Galway Chamber of Commerce and Farrell Travel have come together to extend the Park and Ride facility into this weekend.

Huge numbers are expected in Pearse Stadium on Sunday and supporters will have the option of parking their cars at Galway Airport and taking a shuttle bus to the pitch.

Galway GAA has made arrangements with Galway Airport to park 600 cars at the facility in Carnmore, with Farrell Travel providing a shuttle bus service, commencing at 12noon along the bus corridor to the Western Distributor Roundabout, within walking distance of Pearse Stadium.

Buses will run every 20 minutes and the Airport Car Park will be open from 11am to facilitate both the Connacht Junior Football Final between Mayo and Sligo at 2pm and the big game between Mayo and Galway at 4pm. There will be a charge of €3 per adult and €2 per child to use the shuttle bus.

Patrons from north Galway, Mayo and Sligo, who wish to use this special service should turn left in Claregalway, right at the lights at Carnmore Cross and finally left into the Airport Car Park. Supporters from East and South Galway can access the Airport Car Park via Monivea, Athenry and Oranmore. Buses will collect supporters from the Western Distributor Roundabout immediately after the Senior Game and return them to their cars at Carnmore.
